Dr. Franklin's Soap

Regular price $7.50 Sale

It's no secret that Ben Franklin had a thing for the ladies of France, but he had an even bigger love affair with the French bath.

When Ben Franklin came to Paris, he quickly fell in the love with the French habit of bathing several times a week. With his aches and pains, nothing made the aging statesman feel better than a soak in his tub .

So much so that his grandson wrote admiringly of his 70 year-old grandpa, "The warm bath three times a week has made quite a young man out of him. His pleasing gaiety makes everybody love him, especially the ladies, who permit him always to kiss them."

Whether it was getting clean for those kisses or soaking his pains away, Dr. Franklin's beloved bath would have been accompanied by a luxurious soap like this one.

Available in 1770 scent favorites of orange blossom, honeysuckle, and lilac, our version of Dr. Franklin's Soap is reminiscent of his era and his delight in his bath.
